Jesus answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”
Matthew 19:4–6 (ESV)
Dear Praying friends,
This month, we are turning our attention to praying for strong marriages and godly families across Ohio.
According to the 2023 Ohio Population Snapshot, 37.5% of families with children under 18 are single-parent households, and 42% of Ohio children were born to unmarried parents. These sobering statistics reflect a deeper reality: the breakdown of the family is contributing to child poverty, addiction, violence, and declining educational outcomes across our state.
If we address the root causes of divorce and family fragmentation, we will begin to see significant change in the outcomes we long to see.
We are praying for the Lord to heal bitterness, guilt, and shame—restoring families and mending relationships by His grace. Scripture repeats God’s promise to turn the hearts of parents to their children in both the Old and New Testaments (Malachi 4:6 and Luke 1:17). We believe He still delights to do this today.
Let us ask the Lord for breakthrough across Ohio—for strong, Christ-centered marriages and families that reflect His love. There is no darkness so deep that the blood of Christ cannot turn it into light. He is able to save to the uttermost and restore every home to be a place of safety, rest, and unconditional love.
