Our monthly prayer guides seek to cultivate unified prayer across our state as well as inform our intercessors on current issues through our monthly blog. Each one-page PDF guide covers one key topic such as mental health, schools, immigrants and refugees, sanctity of life, and marriage and family (to name a few).”
The first section of our guide directs our gaze upward with adoration and praise. Together, we magnify the Lord over and above the obstacles we face as well as give thanks for answered prayers. As we enter into God’s courts with thanksgiving and praise, we begin to have the right perspective about worldly realities. In light of God’s truth, we are able to discern how to pray for each topic as we transition into the second section of intercession. This portion of our guide includes a key scripture and bulleted prayer points to contend for in prayer. While our prayer points for intercession are generalized prayers, our final section includes three specific, measurable prayers we are submitting to the Lord for all of Ohio.
We are praying for:
• SALVATION: for the percentage of believers to increase faster than our population growth
• SHALOM: for a dramatic decrease in addictions, mental health issues, trafficking and crime
• SCHOOLS: for every school in Ohio to have a church or Christian non-profit partnership
When we see the needle move across our communities in a measurable way, there is unmistakable evidence of God’s hand at work and He gets all the glory! This prayer strategy yielded miraculous results in Columbus, Ohio, where just last year (2024) every form of violent crime dramatically decreased by 41%. This sharp decline made newspaper headlines and was the sharpest drop compared to every other major city in the U.S.!
